The Wrekin Historical Group formerly Telford Historical and Archaeological Society is a Registered Charity, (Charity number: 512397).
The Telford Historical and Archaeological Society now known as Wrekin Historical Group was founded in 1981 to explore and promote the extensive Historical and Archaeological riches which exist in the Wrekin area and in the vicinity of Telford, Shropshire. The Wrekin Historical Group offers its members and visitors monthly talks, outings and social evenings during the year. The talks cover a wide variety of subjects, with a Historical or Archaeological bias, themes being topics local to Telford or regional to the Wrekin and Shropshire. |

Also during the summer and early autumn, Wrekin Historical Group have two outings, in September we concentrate on particular features in the Wrekin area e.g. explorations of Shropshire canals, Telford churches, abbeys or stately homes.
On our summer excursion, usually held in July, we venture out of the Wrekin and Shropshire areas to visit Historical houses , county towns and excavations. We have included visits to Biddulph Grange.Staffs, Great Witley Worcs, Oxford University... and excavations at Peterborough, also Whitley Grange near Shrewsbury. Read More
